RFA –Cross flow finned pipes heat recovery unit
COS.TER RFA recovery unit is very similar to the cross flow heat exchanger with smooth pipes. The finned tubes increase the thermic exchange on the air side reducing remarkably the pipes length. The construction is very flexible, simple and robust, but suitable for gases at high temperature, both clean and dusty or containing corrosive substances.
Construction specifications: It can be realized with iron, carbon steel or stainless steel finned tubes having a diameter between 3/4" and 2 "1/2 . The choice of the material depends upon the presence of corrosive agents or on the high temperature of the gases treated. The shell is made of thick iron or steel sheet and it is equipped with flanges for connection to the channels. The seal between the two flows is ensured by butt welding of the tubes to the tube sheets. Technical specifications: Regeneration effficiency up to 65% and more. The flow rate of fumes / gases can reach up to 50,000 NMC / h or more. The pressure drop in standard operating conditions is set around 300/400 Pa (water column 30/40 mm) inner smoke side , 100/150 Pa air side (water column 10/15 mm) Higher figures can only be reached at high temperatures, due to the cubical expansion of the air.
Typical applications: Its technical and construction features, the ease of cleaning (swabbing), the long life and reliability make it particularly suitable for:
- heat recovery from industrial processes - pre-filter temperature abatement, etc.
